Lidia’s Italy 5/4 — Time Warner’s description promised thin Italian pancakes, porcini wraps, and more, but what Lidia actually prepared was monkfish in brodetto with artichokes, and skillet fennel with capers. It was all about Roman cooking, and the brodetto was simple: white wine, capers, tomato paste, and water. (PBS, Sunday at 5:30pm)

Japanese Iron Chef is On the Air
Starting tonight at 11pm, the original Iron Chef will be airing on the Fine Living network. As much as I enjoy Iron Chef America, there’s really no substitute for the original.

Lidia’s Italy 4/27 — Lidia prepared “chard pillows” — ravioli filled with a mixture of chard, chicken livers, and ricotta. I’m pretty sure she actually used spinach instead of chard, and although she said they were interchangeable I think they have very different tastes. She made a long-cooked ragu for the sauce — [...]
